Trio of young N.J. teens sentenced in fatal shooting, robbery of taxi driver

Three teens were recently sentenced for their roles in the robbery and fatal shooting of a taxi driver in Somerset County last year, authorities said.
Police in Franklin Township were called to the area of Rose Street and Sydney Place shortly before 10 p.m. on May 11, 2023 and found a taxi which had crashed into a car parked in the driveway of a home, according to a statement from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver, Kofi Addo, 57, of North Brunswick, was found inside the car with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his wounds, the office said.
